Good Afternoon All:
Just wondering if anyone has any experience they'd be willing to share. How much longer/more difficult is it to apply while on Island? We are in the midst of packing/shipping, saying goodbye, etc.; thought if the process wasn't TOO bad, we might apply on Island as opposed to applying in NY and having them mailed to us on STT.
Any thoughts, opinions, experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mary.
Passport applications and photographs are obtained here easily. Since passport applications are sent to the states the only real difference is the extra time the application spends in the mail to the states and the extra time the passport spends in the mail from the states.

I had to renew my passport recently and got all the forms and information on line. I sent the old passport, 2 pictures and the form to the address given and I got my new passport in 2 or 3 weeks. I didn't have to do anything in person on STX.
