Anyone know what the blue/grey haze in the air is? It's been like this a few days but really bad today/

I haven't really seen haze in STT but the sea is certainly churned up, lots of big surf, had lightning in the distance the past 2 nights but no rain or thunder and it is still too warm for the end of OCT! I am really looking forward to our winter weather and cooler temps!

It was def noticible on STX today. Couldn't see the far side of C'sted harbor from Gallows Bay. Buck was covered in something strongly resembling what I imagine coat Scottish moors.

Well, it is good to know that now no one can blame Hovensa for it... I was there this weekend and everything looked typical for this time of the year... A lot of bad smell around the highway, right by the new rum factory though...

I still love STX, regardless...

It was crystal clear visibility this morning & then by afternoon the haze drifted in. Makes me wonder if it's something temperature / sun related?

Does anyone know what the bad smell is around the schooner bay/ballpark area in C-Sted tonight?

You may want to call DPNR or Environmental Services as something is creating that haze/smell and it may not be something healthy that people are being exposed to and breathing. I live on north-side of STT and have not seen any haze here as I look out at the ocean so must be just a STX issue. Good Luck and let us know if a cause is found!

There was a lot of haze over Coral Bay yesterday - I thought it unusual. I agree on the heat this is probably the hottest late October I remember

I was wondering the same thing. It was beautiful and clear yesterday morniing. Going home I noticed the blue haze. When I arrived home and got out of my car, there was a definite smell to the air...like something burning or sulphuric. Checked the Montserrat website...no activityt there plus it would not get here that fast anyway. Weird.
