Ok, here's the deal. Has anyone ever read too much and then became too confused with all the info? Well, that's where I am right now. I'm planning on moving to the VI - it's just a matter of STX or STT. I need to make that determination myself but knowledge is power and I find your answers insightful. Thank you! With that said, I'm thinking of making my ultimate decision once I actually move down there, however, that means I'll have to rent on a month-to-month or 3 month basis. Also, work is a major factor. I'm not rich so I'll need to work. Here are my ?'s:

1. For my PVM - do you know of a cheap place I can stay for a few days in STT and then on STX for a total of 7 days? My main goal is to find a place to rent by the end of the week.
2. I'm an Human Resources Manager (financial industry but can work in other fields); I haven't seen too many jobs posted for this line of work. Don't need links - have them. Just contacts or info re: line of work on either island if u have it.
3. Am I going in the right direction? Am I too scattered? U know better than I and I look for your guidance.

Thank you in advance.
Sue

Come down for PMV and stay on each island a few days. Don't act like a tourist...act like you live here...go to the bank and stand in line, go to WAPA and stand in line, go to Innovative and stand in line, go to the Post Office and stand in line, go to the grocery store, hold your jaw up so it doesn't drag on the floor, then stand in line. Sit in some traffic around Havensite or on the waterfront during peak times, go to Cost-U-Less, PriceSmart, K-mart (big and small), stop by the ER at the hospital...some of these things will seem rather stupid to those of you that don't live here, but, for locals, they know what I'm talking about...things are just 'different' here...come down and act like a local...that may help to decide which, if any, of the islands are for you...

Thank you - why do you feel STX would be a good fit for me? Any suggestions where to stay for a few days on STX?

Also, thanks Marty for the advise! Those are really great suggestions and "hanging" out in the arenas of every day life does afford a good insight to the way of life and people. I know island life is much different than the east coast and while everyone proclaims the reason for leaving is to escape the "rat race" - reality and fantasy are two different worlds. I appreciate the insight. Honestly, I do have some fears - I'm female, 42, single and moving down alone. A lot to consider but if I don't do it now - I never will. Thanks again!!
