Hello!

My wife and 1.5 year old daughter are planning a month long sabbatical to the USVIs in January. I would love any suggestions on where to explore so that we get to experience what all 3 islands have to offer. Our dream is to move down at some point in the next 5 years so I want to take the time to fully explore where would be the best place to live and experience all that USVIs have to offer. Thanks in advance!

p.s. I have read many threads on relocating already. We are not there yet, just want the best places to visit to experience the nuances and differences among the islands.

stt and stj are close to each other, short ferry ride over. stx is either a plane or ferry ride over, but the ferry is longer.

personally i would start on stx and then go to stt and stj, from there you can also visit the BVIs if you have a passport

If you are doing it to understand the island life - get accommodations on each island where you have to visit grocery stores, get a rental car, basically do more than get a hotel room and sightseeing
If it is a vacation trip = pamper yourself.

I would contact a realtor on each island and see if they can show you properties. Also you need to check out school options for your daughter.

If you're a member of an organization like Rotary for instance, you should contact local chapters. There's a list of organizations somewhere on this site, I think. If not on this site you should google for the list.

Great suggestion on the realtor and school options. Thank you! I was planning to reach out to Chris Hanley and his team. I have a few connections to him.
