I am thinking of moving to the VI within the next year and have been doing some research on jobs that are available. My current job is that of a Union carpenter and i have 16 years experience in the construction field. I understand that it will be easier to find a job in the hospitality field, but my questions is, is their construction jobs available on the islands? And if so what would be the best island to move to? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks Marty. I read some of your other post's and was hoping to hear your input. Too bad i"m not moving down sooner, you sounded like the perfect roomate!

Not within the next 6 - 12 months. I've been thinking about for awhile, but with the economy and job situation here, I think it's time to put the plan in action.I figure if I'm going to struggle to make a living I might as well struggle in paradise!

And just think...being summer here...it's not going to be NEARLY as hot here as it will there (wherever "there' is!). I say pack up and get out now! haha!
