Help with reconnaisance trip to STX in advance of snowbirding

Hello all:

My wife and I are gearing up for our visit to STX in a few weeks (our fourth), and in addition to being our annual Caribbean vacation, this trip will involve some work--namely, doing some advance scouting for possible residences to rent for our planned three-month snowbirding stint in Jan-Mar 2009.

I know there are a lot of people on this board who either rent, or know of people who rent, places for short terms. I'm hoping I can get a list of such people and places before we leave on Feb. 20 and, once on island, have a look at some of them (even from the outside if they're currently occupied) to get a better sense of what's in and what's out of consideration for next year.

We'd like to stay around $1K/month, which I believe is realistic based on what I've seen on this board and in the Avis classifieds. We don't need anything luxurious by any stretch--just a clean place (furnished) where we can sleep, shower and work (access to the Internet is a must). One bedroom would be ideal, but we'd consider a larger studio if necessary. We're open to anywhere on the island, but if we had to set preferences, they'd be Cane Bay/North Shore, F'sted, East End, and South Shore, in that order.
