My name is Rob and I'm new to this Message Board. I'm a college student planning to move to St. Thomas around the first week of May and stay for the summer (or maybe permanently if I fall in love with the lifestyle). I'm not at all familiar with the island and am getting pretty nervous about the move. I'm looking for a small economical apartment to lease short term (3 months) and was wondering if anyone could tell me about the ins and outs of everyday life on the island. I have a job lined up bartending at a restaruant but don't know anyone on the island and moving has become really intimidating. I would really appreciate any help or advice anyone can give right now! Thanks so much!

Hello Rob,

Welcome to the Message Board!! 😉

The ins and outs of everyday life on the island is a real open topic - why don't you reply with some questions you might have about life here... whether its do you guys catch this particular tv show, anyplace offer open mic night for me to jam on my guitar or any other things you might be thinking of. That will help us to help you.

Also read through the What to Expect stories on this site, they are written by folks that visited with the intent of moving or that made the move and they share their thoughts, what they did to prepare, tips etc. Here's a link to that section https://vimovingcenter.com/what_to_expect/.
