The holidays are a wonderful time to meet and mingle. The Christmas season in the Caribbean is considerably longer than in most areas, and there are numerous events for you to celebrate the season. I'll try to post what I find out about in this thread and hope others will contribute.
This is a St Thomas event. If you're looking to meet people, the Secret Garden Party would be an ideal event.

Christmas Spoken Here on December 6 at St. George Botanical Garden. Lots of vendors, local foods, Santa Claus, kids' activities, choirs, beautifully decorated Christmas trees. A St. Croix tradition for over 40 years.

On St Thomas, the annual Christmas tree lighting festivities at Havensight Mall will be held on December 9th. Great fun!
