This would seem to predict some car barge delays over the holiday busy season.

It would make too much sense if they could dry dock during off season instead of beginning of high season. Even with that barge in service, there are regular delays and long waiting times on both ends.
They turned down one of the ferry services that wished to add a barge into service.

In addition, the RH terminal parking lot has been closed to accommodate the new construction. It hadn't yet begun when I was out that way on Tuesday. Area curtailed off.
I can't recall how big, in terms of the number of cars it will hold but the parking situation in Red Hook is terrible, at best. The lot may be too small for the growing commuter, east end and RH populations.

The Red Hook lot is scheduled to begin being under construction 12/19 as reported today on Channel 2 news.
