Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know if you are building a home and acting as your own general contractor are you required to have a licensed electrician and plumber? Essentially, I want to know if the DPNR is ok with a builder/owner doing their own plumbing and electrical. If anyone has any insight on this I would love to hear.

Thanks,
Brandon

At some point you will have to have a DPNR inspection on plumbing and electric - and a licensed professional sign off on it for them - the earlier in the construction process that you can have a professional assess the quality and code legality of your own labor the easier it will be to fix whatever issue may arise at inspection.
