Hello -
I am getting ready to relocate to the area and have some questions. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

I am a Certified Nurse Midwife / Nurse Practitioner and was wondering what the best hosptial is to work in, and if there are any midwifes, doctors, hosptials, or nurse practitioners who are looking for help in the OB/GYN field.

Next, what island would you recommend to live on and why?

On the island where would you recommend living?

How do dogs do in the islands?

Where would I start to look for condos, apts, houses, etc for rent and then to purchase later on?

I would appreciate all help. Thanks and have an awesome day! Lis

Hi Lis,
I am an NICU nurse who worked at Roy Lester Schneider hospital on St. Thomas this summer. There is one NP for L&D who is very nice and good. Otherwise they have OB docs. I think alot of them actually work for the hospital and don't have an office, or at least that is the feel I got. I know they don't offer epidurals. I think alot of how you'll tolerate their L&D is what your used to. I currently live in rural alaska so not alot was difficult for me to adjust to. I know St. John has a clinic with OB services but no delivery capability. It is more like an urgent care setting with added clinic hours for some specialties. St. Croix being the biggest island has a hospital but I've never been inside of it. Goodluck and feel free to privately email me if you have more questions.

Dogs do just fine here. My "Freddy" is happy as can be! (Sorry, that's the only thing I could reply about with any knowlege! Haha!) Oh, and the "Island Trader" for STT and STJ is the best place to find housing. (OK, TWO things! haha!)
