I am thinking about puttng a house trailer, not one that is movable, on a piece of property that I have on St. Croix. Does anyone know where I can buy one?

There is a reason that buildings here are made of concrete block.

Every once in a while we see one tucked in somewhere on STX. They are older, usually with add-ons attached and look like they have been there for many years. I can't come up with an actual location, off the top of my head, but they are around. Obviously shipped in from the states, or maybe PR. I wonder if the ones we see were brought in many years ago for some project, as temp housing or offices, then sold off.

Some were shipped over after Hugo.

Hi folks just was surfing and noticed this thread.
Somewhere close to the Cotton valley mall is a unit with a porch and a good sized yard barn. seems to me it has hurricane straps tying it down.

Juanita--The one's you see around were FEMA trailers shipped down after Hugo and used at Castle Burke for housing; they were sold off several years ago.

Thanks all - I've seen them on other islands and I thought I've seen them on STX in the past

Someone had an ad for one in the Avis about two weeks ago. I think it was under Real Estate for Sale. I'm wondering if you can get permits for the trailers since they would no longer be govt issued?
