Housesitting Opportunities?

I've seen sporadic postings from people who are housesitting somewhere on St. Croix. I will be moving to St. Croix at the end of August for a job and my boyfriend will be following, but not until November. The job doesn't pay a whole lot compared to the cost of living. I would love to find somewhere that I could housesit, even if only for the two months until my boyfriend arrives and we can find a place together. Does anyone have any suggestions, or do you have to be in the lucky position of knowing somebody with a place on-island who is looking for someone to sit? That's what I'm guessing, but I figured it was worth a shot to ask...
