Hurricane Omar - 17 hours and counting

Sorry for lack of updates, I was out in the yard all day removing dead/downed trees and bushes. We still don't have power at Tulipan Welcome, I think they got the power up as far as the ballpark and we are just beyond that. Thank god for my little $120 2 stroke generator (watching hockey on my bigscreen with it) and power invertors plugged into the car for lights etc! Anyway, I didn't make it out of my neighborhood today but my tenant did. She went out East and said the power poles were just gone, cracked in half etc. Really doesn't look good for power out there. I have heard a lot of boats were lost, in the C'stead harbor I heard 16 boats including one valued at $500,000. I have no was to substatiate this. We are under curfew that started at 6pm, I don't understand that, i was starving and tired and wanted to meet a friend at Pickled greek but he didn't want to risk it. I could understand a 10pm curfew but 6pm kind of pissed me off.

Thanks Islander for a great post and awesome pics. I am so glad things went as well as they did. I watched the weather channel all night hoping and praying that things would work out from here in Indiana.
7 days and counting before the final move.....excitement, anxiety and tons of stuff left to get finished.

My wife just told me the curfew is on again for 6pm tonight. Still no power on Mt. Welcome (Tulipan) but we do have WAPA water now. I am off island on a previously scheduled trip.

Is Choice cable back for anyone in STX?

Hey Jay,

I don't have Choice back yet either. I tried resetting the configuration and it just says No Channels Available. The Choice office opens back up on Monday.
