I urgently need to replace a tire. I can't find what I need on STT.
How do you go about shipping tires from mainland? Are there any mail order companies that ship to STT?

I can possibly get what I need in PR. Can I just bring them to the airport and take as a carry on or luggage?

If you are only talking one tire you may be able to get it mailed?

It looks like TireRack does international shipping. Give them a call it says to get a quote. Stateside delivery by UPS is usually 2-3 days to my house there. They ship from closest warehouse with stock on hand.

Have you thought about finding what you need on STX and shipping it on the seaplane?

How much is the shipping via UPS?
If tire is foreign made, it may get hung up in Customs.

Why would tires unavailable on STT be available on STX?

Tirerack worked.
Order went through. Shipping was only 80$ for single tire. Looks like they will ship USPS priority. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Helped a guy picking up 4 tires from Tirerack once at the post office. He said it was the second time he'd done it, and that he'd had no problems or delays.

I see tires coming in from the states frequently when I go the Paradise Freight for a pick up. Apparently, people ship tires here all the time. I've thought about using Tire Rack but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

I got a call from Tirerack this am. They are indeed shipping tonight USPS priority. $80 for large SUV tire is not bad at all.

Just for future reference. I know someone who buys tires for a rental fleet. He pays 100.00 to ship a set of four through St. Thomas Cargo. His are also SUV tires and he gets free shipping to the freight forwarder.
