My boyfriend and I are considering relocating and I was wondering if there were any interracial couples on the forum? I'm black, he's white. Has anyone experienced any discrimination or difficulties on an interracial dating basis?

You shouldn't have any problems. Lots of interracial couples here. There are some segments of the population that frown upon anything interracial, but nothing more extreme than what occurs in the states. In fact, from my own personal experience, its a lot more of an accepting culture here than the US.

You may get a few stares but that will happen anywhere. Just remember guys stare at all women whether or not they are with someone of another race or not. I may be wrong but I believe one of the high officials in the gov't has been is a long time interracial marriage. I think you will be fine

the history and culture of this place is based upon people loving each other without consideration for skin color. like stxem, i recognize that there are some small-minded folks here just as in other places but it's pretty commonplace. i don't expect you will encounter many issues, particularly if you arrive together as opposed to coming in and "pulling" someone.

Glad you feel that way A!...
Does this mean we still have a chance??

But seriously, no problem(even from the "small minded").

We're interracially married - black male, white female. We get no flack at all here in STX and really the only (rare) flack we got in the U.S. was from a very small number of black females (typically directed at my wife.)
