If anyone works for the hospital in STT or has had an interview can you give me an idea on what the process is for someone who lives stateside. Do you fly down for an interview, do they pay for anything. Does anyone know about relocation reimbursement from them also. I think I will be getting an offer soon and wanted a heads up on what to expect. The job is a permanent job not with a temp agency! Any info would be great. THANKS!

I just accepted my permanent job at the hospital. I start in January on the peds floor. The interview process is not that different than the states. You can do a phone interview if you won't be on island, but they prefer to meet you and show you around. They will not pay for any sort of PMV travel/or flight there to interview. As for your offer, the base salary is quite less than the states, but there is an understanding that it will be increasing once the gov't funding goes through, they will explain that in your offer letter. They offer up to 2,000$ in relocation and you must provide all original receipts. The benefits are great and they celebrate 19 holidays! What type of nurse are you?

Thanks for that information. I am not a nurse, I am a medical coder. Did you do your interview over the phone? I'm glad to hear the benefits are good. And the holidays, WOW. We only get 6 where I work now. Good luck to you, If you don't mind me asking, you can PM did you find a place to rent yet? or are you looking when you get there? So many questions that need answers, lol.
