I don't purchase specialty food, but are there certain stores to go to that sell it for less?

I'm sure I need to establish an account with WAPA when I arrive do they request a deposit? If so does it generally depend on the apartment or is there just a solid fee?

No problem... in regards to the food - I am talking about cat food. I require prescription food not just speciality food, thats my problem. I didn't think it would be so difficult to get it here. I still dont get how some of you are ordering from petfooddirect. They told me repeatedly they would NOT ship here as did so many other pet suppliers online. I have found it online from one retailer through Amazon that seems to get to me, otherwise I have family from AZ go to my old vet and ship it to me. PITA but gotta have it.

AandA2VI, use a cargo service. Here on STX I use VI Cargo. My dog's food is shipped from Amazon to their Miami address, and then the cargo service brings it here. I can't get my dog's prescription food shipped here either, that's why I use the cargo service. It's about $10 to get 40 pounds of food shipped here.

I don't think any pet food retailers ship directly to the VI, hence using a cargo service.

I use both and they're both great and highly competitive where price is concerned - haven't paid a shipping charge yet with Petco.

Petco doesn't ship my dog's food here for some reason. Hmpf.

I've never talked to anyone at petfooddirect before. I just order mine on autoship and it goes straight to the post office every month. Had to use VA as the state for the shipping address, but it is addressed correctly once it gets here.
