Coming to STT in Jan 08. Looking for help to get vehicle out of customs and registered. I understand that people are available to take care of process. Looking for references.

This is something you can do yourself, if you have a day or two to spare, and you will learn SO much about life in the islands right there! No, I'm not being facetious. If you can get through that experience and still feel good about your decision to move, you will do well. Have lots of patience. Learn how the wheels of bureaucracy grind!
I've been through that experience twice. Once was totally awful, and I was already well used to Island life. I had to pay taxes on my Ford car, which I bought new in the USA, and had already owned for four years! The other time went well, a good samaritan came and helped me, out of the goodness of his heart (ok, I'm a woman!)
Anyway, believe me, you can learn so much in just one day. People take the time to talk to you, if you have the time to listen.

Check with whoever you buy your insurance from..they usually have "guys" who can help you.

Was just down for job interview. That's were I heard about people clearing your car through customs. Time will be tight when I return so hiring a helper is the best option.

Just received my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4WD through Crowley today on STT. Here is a breakdown of the costs for everyone's fyi. I used Randy "I'll Do It For You Services". I was very pleased with him. Gave him the insurance verification about 10 a.m., he delivered my vehicle to my home about 1:00 p.m. His phone number is (340) 690-9139.

Shipping 1113.00
Road Tax 626.56
Registration Fee 106.00
Moving Permit $5.00
Randy's Service Charge 200.00
