Received a letter a letter yesterday from Travelers Insurance Co. : Due to the severe weather conditions and massive claims we will no longer be providing home owners insurance. We can recommend a company at a higher rate. You have until August to make a decision. My home is in Ny no severe weather here. do you think this will be a trend?

It has been happening for several years, Often homeowner insurance is still available through the firm, but not in certain states/areas. If Travelers is giving up on insuring homes across the board, then they will have to change their commercials. I think if you shop around you may find better rates than you were paying with Travelers.

What a hassle. I hope you find a better deal so at least the switch feels like a victory.
