My girlfriend and I are talking about moving to St. Thomas or one of the other islands. She is a nurse and can get a job but I am an electronic technician/PLC programmer. Are there many (or any) job opportunities in this field?

Dear Lewis,

Have you gone to the first post on this forum which directs new people to this board to "click here"?

If your girlfriend can hook into a traveller nurse position, that can be very lucrative. Your employment opportunities will entail your actually being here as it's very rarely that any employer in your field will hire you from off-island.

Do go to that first post on this forum and research the wealth of information right at your fingertips. After that, do a "search" on this forum using key words. Both you and your girlfriend will discover a whole bunch of information relative to your respective fields. Good luck, and welcome to this forum!
