I heard a rumor today that the hospital is completely closed down. Now, I have heard this about our hospital on St Thomas and know it's bogus. I said, "Where do you think the sick people are going?" and there was no answer... I figure that the physical building (or parts of it) may be closed, but that patients must be being seen somewhere. Does anyone have any info to stifle this rumor??

Why not take a drive over and inform us all of your findings?

Status of JFL from one of Gov Mapp's recent presentations (can't find the link)

The cardiac center is being used as the emergency room. Cardiac services are limited right now because of that. Operating rooms are limited but available. There are some rooms available for patients.

Modular hospital units are due on all three islands by June.

FYI - a quick web search might help avoid starting rumors.

I am living right next door to it - and there entirely too many cars and activity over there to be shut down.

I am not starting a rumor. I have heard people say that our hospital on St Thomas has been condemned and is not operational and it's not true. I know sick people are going somewhere over there also. Maybe I will "take a drive" over if I can find that bridge...:P

Asking a question isn't spreading a rumor. It's just asking for information.
