We are headed down to STX Sunday for 10 days. Never been there first of July so what can we expect?
Are their parades and big public celebrations or do most people celebrate with families ands at homes or local hangouts?
Will stores and offices all be closed July 3 & 4? Grocery stores open/closed?

Grocery stores will be open, govt buildings, banks will be closed. Other stores may close as well. Most of the restaurants will be open. STJ I think is the best island for the 4th, they usually do it up right. STX will have fireworks on the west end, people might camp out on the beaches, but like stateside mostly people get together to celebrate.
Isnt there normally a jump up before the 4th?
