After reading just a few dozen posts by various locals and people who obviously know what they're talking about. I've decided to just come for a 3 or 4 months stay at the height of the season and get a first hand look at things. Didn't realize almost every thing I take for granted here, is somewhat of a hassle there.
But I guess that is the whole point of it, to chill out and get into the island life.
Great finding this site, I'll be down to spur the economy along this winter, but I don't think I have it in me to take on such a project.
Maybe in my 30's or 40', but not now in my mid 50's.

I agree with Edward - it's never too late - this is a fabulous place for "young" people in their 50's and up - not so great for "old" people at any age (i've met some "old" 30 year olds and some very young 70 year olds!!!).
Which island will you be visiting? St Croix? (the best one??? 🙂
