Kmart in Sunny Isle Sunday was a MESS!!! What happened???
The place was soooooooooo moldy smelling & combined with an over powering mix of bleach, my eyes instantly blurred from tears & my nose & throat started to burn!!! I wasn't in the place but a minute & the hub & I ran for the door!!! IMO the place should have been closed!!! Employees nor customers should have been allowed in until the over whelming mold/bleach thing was/is fixed. I understand wanting to make a few dollars, but at the heallth risk of others isn't worth it! Hopefully the problem is resolved & there will not be any lingering heath issues for those whom decided to work or shop!

So, are you saying that you can get free dry cleaning by just wearing your whites through the store... woohoo!... maybe teeth whitening also!! I wonder if they call that "customer service"...

On Friday night, they had a sign on their door that said they were closed due to flooding. One of my students said that there was an area that received a lot of damage during the hurricane (baby section), and that it wasn't completely fixed yet. When the rain storm arrived on Thursday evening, it ended up flooding. I'm not sure how much of this is true, but when I drove by Friday after school, you could see the water all over the entrance area.

Ouch................Omar strikes again!
I much prefer the K-west, but the drive...................I know it's a small island & Its not like I'm driving from Cincinnati Oh to Garden City NJ, but from the far east to the far west it can seem like it...lol.
However we've moved more center island to Catherines Roost...........I mean Rest, so the drive will be considerbly shorter.
Hey Tippy I have some chickens for you!!!!
Secoond thought........Heck maybe I should open a KFC............change the cluck to a buck!

I did leave Sunny Isle KM Sunday because of the mildew smell. I asked the checker how she could stand it, and she just shrugged. I went out to Sunshine Mall. In most places the health department would have closed them down, but then everyone would be screaming about Kmart being closed. Whatcha gonna do? Would be nice if we had more choices.

All the stores in sunny isle had bad flood damage after omar. All the ones on the movie theater side had water in the back half of their stores. Most were open a couple of days later water or not. With this economy you can't afford to be closed even for hurricane damage.

I actually prefer SI kmart for shopping, but like the west end one for the cafeteria. Their local/PR food is pretty good.
