Knud Hansen Complex.
The shelter has a kitchen, a stock of Red Cross supplies, and will have a kennel set up for pets. Portable showers will be available in the event that multiple-day shelter is needed.

From this Source article:

I wasn't aware that any VI shelters accepted pets so this is good news in the event that people with pets need to go to a shelter in the event of a severe storm.

Wonder if any other shelters, including those in STJ/STX do so?

Not sure about USVI but the States now have to take into account the needs of individuals with household pets and service animals before, during and after a disaster if they want to receive FEMA support. Google PETS Act

How many? Are there statistics available? I don't recall any such correlation in the USVI.

Not necessarily here in VI, OT but it happens.
If I can't take my dogs with me to a shelter, I'm not going.
Luckily, haven't had to make that decision.
Glad there's an option here at Knud Hansen.
I'd be interested in knowing if other shelters here and STJ/STX do as well.

If I can find out, will post info.
Thanks for your info, ghjr.
