Mornin',

I am from the Midwest and grew up with construcion and manual labor job. I am sure there probably isn't to much new building if any at all. Just curious as to what kind of labor work is available on the islands, as far as agriculture and or construction type work. Just in case the Graphic Design thing doesn't work out. 🙂

Thanks again, much respect,

Adam

I'm not involved in either industry, but is seems to me there's always some residential construction going on, as well as the odd commercial project like the new Home Depot. As for agriculture I don't think there's much on STT; STX might be a different story. Graphic design might be the way to go, especially if you combine that with web design. Judging by the quality of a lot of VI websites I've seen, there is still room in the market for more web/graphic design firms. If you use a mac, just be sure to bring and or order everything you need as you will be hard pressed to find anything here.

I just got a job for a welding company in under a week of being here. What kind skills do you have? They don't have alot here. I am on STX and its slow, but there always something going on. Also a lot these companys well go to B.V.I. and other carabbian islands. Just call everyone in the phone book and you'll find something. It all comes down to how bad do you want to work.

Also keep in mind that Home Depot opens in December (I think). Someone with your experience could probably land a job there easily. They are a great company to work for. Good Luck.

Matt

I leave for STT in the morning (hopefully, on stand by).

Thanks for the info fellas. I am kind of strictly framing and roofing, but I can definetly fiigure stuff out. As far as the Home Depot goes, that sounds good too, but i won't be coming there until probably next fall. I appreciate the feedback.

Respect,

ADam

JSIN , You said you just moved to StX. Was it easy to find and apartment? I was going to try STT, but STX sounds a little more laid back, not like STT isn't laid back or anything but a little less bussle. Just curious.
