Just read that Lance Armstrong tweeted he will be coming to compete in the Triathalon on STX this year. Could bring some extra tourists!

Well he can see for himself how crappy the roads are. Guess they finally started to pave/patch the bike route along the north shore.

yep, they did start the cheap patch jobs that will need to be repatched before the year is over but they will wait until the next triathlon to do.

Well, duh. How do you think they ensure job security? If they did it right they wouldn't have to do it every year.

MTV on STT. ESPN on STX. Good network PR for the VI.

My best guess based on similar events, they usually tape the event and broadcast at a later date.

You call what they did "paving"? I call it glorified patching. See what it looks like in a month.

No, PennDOT does great paving jobs. They ensure job security by taking forever to finish them.

Eh, depends on your definition of "most," I suppose. He was 3rd after the water. Took over 1st around 45 miles in to the bike, from what I've heard, and lost it on the second loop of the run.

Lance showed his true colors when he didn't have the descency to show up at the awards banquet to receive his award and check. Guess that's what happens when you ride a $150K bike... you forget about your roots and the people that got you there. Quite frankly I could care less if he returns next year.

Interesting, as I read on the Source this morning that he was obviously very disgruntled after the race was over and refused speak to reporters, was hustled away by security personnel. Seems that fame hasn't done well for him where social graces and sportsmanship are concerned.
