Greetings All,
I fly out tomorrow morning to STT and will spend a couple of nights at Villa Blanca while looking for a place to live and buy a car. I happened to sell my car last week, so I'll be looking for an "Island Junker" or something reliable. Once I get settled, the family will follow... hopefully soon.

I appreciate everyones help here on the board, and would love to meet in person as I get acclimated to the island. I don't know if they have internet at the hotel, but feel free to leave me a post or a PM and I'll try to get in touch as soon as possible.
Good night!
Edgar

Hi Edgar,
Wow, time has flown. For some reason we thought you were going for a pmv and not moving quite yet. Happy travels, be safe, hopefully Mike, Linda, Les and I will have a coffee at Starbucks for you soon, and you can have a Lime in de Coconut for us 🙂 We will be there at the end of May for 5 days - maybe we can catch up then. Let us know how things go. Good luck
Les and Pia

Hey my fellow Kansas Citians! Welcome Edgar! There are a few internet cafe places on STT if you don't have access at your hotel. Soapy's in Havensight comes to mind. I can't remember the others right now. Good luck with everything. Pick up an Island Trader (free) when you get here. It is published every Thursday and is a good source for jobs, homes, etc. Also the Daily News is a good source (75 cents a day - no paper on Sunday...isn't that wrong somehow?) Anyway, I am sure you know this already. Keep us posted please.

Teresa

Woohoo!!! I'm HERE!!!
The phone was screwed up at the hotel, and I left the new charger for my new Sprint cellphone in a friends car Friday so I have been without phone service until today, and I JUST MISSED getting thet Samurai for sale...DARN!
Oh well, such is life on STT.
I arrived late Thursday, and already have looked at 2 rentals, 1 office space, and took a day trip to St John. I have temporary office space just below Villa Blanca where I'm staying, so I am in business already.
I picked up a phone at Radioshack in the Nisky center. Khalid was great and I was in and out in 20 minutes... even with me deciding which phone to get. See Khalid or Patrick and tell them I sent you and they will take care of you.
Randy's Bistro has great ribs also.
I learned which way to take the safari so I don't go to the "country" (redhook) from KMart when I want to go towards "downtown". Good thing I didn't have any ice cream in my bag.LOL
The weather is great although I'm nursing a cold I picked up before I left. A chance of rain means a sprinkle on the island SOMEWHERE.
I spent Saturday afternoon at a BBQ at a home above the Marriott. Unbelieveable views!!!
Travelwoman, Piaa, and Teresa, send me a PM and I'll give you my cell number.
Islander, thanks for such a great site!!
Regards,
Edgar

Wonderful Edgar,

Sounds like you jumped right into everything!! Thanks for the update, keep them coming. Can I count on you to give a moving story once you have been on island for a few weeks/months? Glad things are going well.

Nothing to be afraid of here, so why not jump in!? I'm already working a couple of business deals as well. Oh, and you bet... I'll happy to give a moving story. Let me get a little more settled in and I'll make some time to give it some thought. I've gotta go and look at another rental.
See ya,
Edgar
