Been a lot of activity at the new location this week and last. Anyone have any inside poop as to when opening day is?

A friend ran into Laurie this past week. She's planning a soft opening this Friday July 9.

Right now I'm enjoying her famous fried chicken and potato salad from the Sierra Verde store. Very classy place! Well done, Laurie and Pauli!

Blue Terrace. Been there 2x now and have had awful experiences. The second time I complained because we waited over two hours, they kept telling us they were out of stuff, and then ended up bringing us the wrong food. I want them to succeed because I always loved the food when it was at the reef but I seriously think their Menu is way way too big for the island. Being able to keep that many ingredients fresh and train staff here, etc... I think it's going to take them several months at least to really get up to speed. On the other hand the drinks were delightful and the atmosphere and the view are wonderful!

The prices are better then I expected considering how nice the place looks and what thy must have put into it. The drinks tend to be a little bit resort priced. First time we had the fried chicken and we both agreed we had bigger and better chicken breast from KFC.

Second time we went on a Sunday for brunch with friends. They told us we could only order off of the brunch menu. The first thing I wanted they were out of, the second thing I wanted they were out of, the third thing (stuffed french toast) they could make but only plain and only with strawberry (menu offered 5 choices of fruit). We all order brunch items, eggs, omelets and I forget what our other friend ordered, but it didn't matter because only the french toast and the plain egg order came. And then they said we could no longer order from the brunch menu but they would have to pick cold sandwiches. So the boys did and they gave the sandwiches to another table. 30 minutes later the sandwiches came but they were made wrong.

I didn't honestly remember what everything cost but it seemed like everything started around $12.

Honestly the food was VERY average at best. Nothing like it was before. But because I loved it so much before I am definitely going to try again but just going to give them a month or two to get things moving right. I really really hope!

I went for lunch with a friend last week. 3 tables filled, 4 or 5 employees milling around. We orders sandwiches and it took almost 40 minutes. They are experiencing some "birth" pains, I think. The building and view are wonderful. Price is ok. Food is, at this time, average only. But I will be back, I'd like to see them succeed.

I talked to Paulie yesterday and he said they were still in the soft-opening stages, getting some things figured out with the restaurant.

Drinks are expensive. $12.50 for a Heniken and a glass of house Chardonay.
