Living in the BVIs

HI

I have visited Tortola, BVI a number of times and really liked it. I have heard that finding work there is nearly impossible for US citizens because strong preference is given to "belongers" (BVI residents). Does anyone have any information on living and working in the BVIs or are there on-line resources similar to VINOW.COM that are available?

Thanks,

Pete

Pete: As I understand it, you need a work permit which is provided by your employer (i.e. someone has to give you a job first!). They have to put jobs up for employment by locals first. Check with the BVI section of traveltalkonline.com.
