Your question is not easy to answer. First off, what level of living are you looking at? Secondly, which island will you be in? St.John is the most expensive to live on as everything is shipped in and property valiues are way up. STT and STX are about the same. Maybe STT a bit higher. Property values are related to location.

To give you a starting reference point, rent for a one bedroom apartment on the northside of STT would be anywhere from $700-$950 a month. You could get cheaper rentals on less desirable parts of the island. STJ would be several hundred dollars more IF you could find one. Then you are looking at food which is on average about 25% more than on the mainland . Yes there are wharehouse type clubs there similar to Sam's and Costco so that is a plus. Another plus is that there is no tax. That's why booze and cigarettes are so cheap.

So I guess from that you could extrapolate a workable ballpark figure to give you an idea of what it would cost to live down there based on your current lifestyle. But then again one can always tighten one's belt a little bit for a taste of paradise. 😉
