Living on St. John, Working on St. Thomas

Is it economically feasible to live on St. John and commute by ferry to work on St. Thomas? I have found few rents for St. John in the classifieds of the Virgin Islands Times, so I'm having a hard time getting an idea of rental ranges for that island. Thanks!

I have known people who do this, but it seems to get old pretty fast. Either you have to have a car on both islands or you have to take the safari on St Thomas. There are more rentals on St Thomas than St John also.

It does get old pretty fast - I tried it for about six months commuting to Sapphire from St. John and I was always early for work or late then would wind up stopping in Poor Man's for a quick one on the way home while waiting for the 6 PM ferry back and miss it .... not much sympathy on the home front for that one 🙂 Moved to St. Thomas and found it much more convenient.

Dixie,
If you are going to work in Charlotte Amalie, I would strongly suggest residing in STT over the STJ commute... IMHO.
