Hello, if I remember correctly The Iland Trader was the most popular for St. Thomas, is this the same for St. Croix? Do they have a website, can't find much with google. Do any of the newspapers have websites in islands? Thanks.

Hello, thank you for your reply. I am looking for architectural drafting. No on has replied to my previous post about local firms and just wanted to see if there was by chance any ads in a local paper. Do you think there is much of a demand for this profession on St. Croix?

I called several architects several months ago trying to get some plans drawn up for a home remodeling project we are doing. Two said that they were too busy to take on any new work and a third said that it would be a couple of months before he could start working on the plans. We finally just went with a draftsman, who is also very busy, that the builder we chose uses. So it looks like there is a pretty good demand for that type of work on STX.

many draftsmen work directly for builders or engineers, rather than architectural firms... although we have some of those, also. This type of profession is in high demand and the waiting times can be long for those in need of the service. You should be able to earn a good living if you have the right skills. Just adjust your thinking from stick-frame construction to masonry!
