Hi,
I am looking for long term parking. I visit STT 3-4 times a year and have decided to buy a car. renting is such a waste. Does anyone know of a long term parking / storage place near the airport?
Thanks

Not near airport but Fortress Storage behind STT Hospital may work.
Anyone else think of anything closer to airport?

You may be able to find warehouse space in the airport vicinity - you would have to find and evaluate the safety and gauge the cost value.
the most economical safe type storage would be something like Fortress Self Storage - by the RLS Hospital.

using the simple search function:

edit: A33 beat me to it by 2 min. sorry.

If you have any friends over in STT ask to park at their house. They can start it and move it around occasionally to blow out the spiderwebs. That's what i did in STX before I moved here permanantly

You could also ask the towing companies if they have any storage willing to rent.

I would think any long term parking would outweigh the savings you may incur. If you store it for 330 days at even $5.00 day it would be $1650 for the year, and that's pretty cheap I would think for the island. Even at 2.50 day, that's $825, with registration, upkeep, and insurance, I think its still would be better to just rent a nice car. Plus you said your buying a car, so there's a cost there as well. What is the breakeven point?

I'm looking to ship my car down, but I can store it at my house, which would be advantageous for me. I have looked at the 1800 I spend each year for car rentals and never have to worry about the insurance, maintenance and other costs.
So, possibly saving 500 -800 dollars a year isn't all that great, hoping that you have no problems while you are there, its more of a piece of mind thing for me at this time.
