Hello Everyone,

I have been searching online (without great success) for long term (appox. 8 months) apartments. Does anyone know of a reliable real estate broker who can assist me in finding a good quality apt or condo from September 05-March 06 for under $1000/month.
1 bedroom....studio....etc...

OR

If anyone has a personal property available that will be available for rental.

Any help you can provide would be very much appreciated.

Josh

Islander,

Appreciate the input. Most likely St. Thomas, but that is not set in stone. Do you have any recommendations. Here is the plan...My girlfriend and I are planning to move to the USVI to work during the busy season. We feel that it would be best to be near the resorts/ tourist areas to find work. Looking for a 6-8 month rental for a pretty good price.

Anything you can suggest would be helpful i'm sure. When would be a good time to really start looking for September?

Hello Josh,

Off season is roughly mid-May until early November. September is one of the low months of the off season, along with August & October. Things start picking up somewhat in late October, a little more in November and then December -January season is in full swing. I'd recommend putting off moving for a few weeks, so move the date from September to October.

Most people move down and stay in a b&b for a few nights, weeks and find an apartment while on island. Unless you intend to sign a lease for a place a few months before you get here and pay for the apartment to remain empty then you will have to wait until a few weeks before your move date to start looking for vacancies and even then you really want to see the places yourself beforing committing to a 6-12 month lease. You can start perhaps a month or two prior with the help of a real estate agent if you want to go that route.
