I don't know of anyone who is personally selling a car right now, but I've seen plenty for sale in the Island Trader in that price range.

Just take to a reliable mechanic first so you don't buy a headache.

Thanks VI: We looked at the trader, not much this week. CL yielded a few. There's a place by the police station near tutu that seems to have the best ones in our range. We're gonna look until Thursday but need one by the end of the week.
Alana: we're going to do just that, using a reccomended mechanic Heathcliff.
On a side note were still looking for a rental apt too. 😉 prefer northside and needs to be furnished and safe.

Check places like Red Hook Mail Center/Red Hook Plaza that have bulletin boards for people to advertise stuff like that. I'm sure there are some mechanics who you could contact that would know of reliable vehicles for sale.
Wintberg is a nice area on the Northside. I know several people who live in that area.
