My friend's dog Skai (pronounced Sky) went missng last night during the thunderstorm in LaGrange. He could be anywhere on the West End, from Carambola to Sandy Point (or anywhere really, he's quite athletic). He is a black/blue/tan lab/pit mix with a white chest, about 60 lbs, microchipped, wearing a red collar with ID tags (although tags may have come off). Please call 340-277-5921 or 340-201-4412 if you find him. He is a cancer survivor and very much missed and loved by his family. Thanks for your help!

Hope you find him.
Fingers crossed for all missing pups to find their way back home.

I am sure you have called the all STX shelters, let the all the island vets know and put up Missing posters all over.
You could also try calling the local radio stations as they are usually really good about getting the message out about missing pets.
Good Luck.

It's not my pup, Alana. Lots of us looking for him. Calling radio stations is a great idea. I'll pass it along. Thanks!

Yep, they've let the vets and shelter know. Radio stations are a good idea--I'll let them know.

Try St. Croix Lost & Found (Pets) on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/stcroix.lostfound.pets?fref=ts

You can post there and check to see if anyone found an animal there as well.

The owner has posted there but I don't see a large photo. The pet's name is Skai (pronounced Sky). Thanks, Mike!

Their daughter must be so upset. I remember them racing home when the storm rolled in to get to the dog. This is sad.

So glad and relieved for Skai, his family and all the interested friends that helped.
Hope the other missing dog on this forum will have the same happy ending.

I had one of my pups freak out during a thunderstorm when I was not home, climb over a 6 ft. fence and end up miles away from my location. Luckily, she had ID tags on her and was back home within hours but it was a worrisome few hours wondering where the
heck she'd gotten to and then how she'd managed to travel so far, so fast, to a completely unfamiliar location to her.

Skai ended up quite a few miles away from his current residence--he went back to the old area he first lived in as a puppy. That area must be more strongly imprinted on him than where he lives now. Perhaps the stress from the storm also fueled this instinct or contributed to the confusion. But he is home now and thanks to everyone who contributed to the "coconut telegraph" that helped get him back!! 🙂

That's Awesome!
Hoping the same will happen for Big Dog that is still missing.
