Wondering if anyone on this board knows if Maho has finished accepting people for this year's 4-hour program. I sent in an application a couple of months ago and haven't heard back yet. I would contact them directly, but in the application they asked that people not contact them about the status of their application due to the high volume of applicants. Any information would be appreciated.

Hey Bill-

I also applied to the work program at Maho (in January I think), and heard back about the 3rd week in February that I had been accepted to work mid August-September. From that point on I have been in contact with Maho and just last week bought my plane tickets.

So, I don't really know what to tell you other than I know the deadline for me to confirm that I was coming by was April 15th (tomorrow). So perhaps if other accepted applicants do not confirm their positions, they will be contacting more people. Good Luck!!

For anyone else who is reading this post - I have been on these boards checking things out for the last few days and am really impressed with all of the great information. I am EXTREMELY excited about spending time on St. John and the rest of the USVI, and everything I've read here has been a great help in what to expect. I have seen a few posts in regards to Maho Bay's work program but not many. Seems to have been a good experience for just about everyone. Does anyone have any further comments or experiences to share? I can't wait to see what life is like on the islands and have a feeling the next 4 months are going to be the longest of my life...

Thanks and good luck Bill!

Welcome TJ,

As you mentioned there have been a few threads about Maho's program and there is one Maho Story in our What to Expect story section written by someone that completed the work program there. I have also heard only good things.

All the best with your plans and with the Maho program. Be sure to share your experiences with us about the program and St. John.

Thanks for the information. According to the website they accept applications for the program until today, so I thought that they may still be accepting people to the program, but it seems to fill up so quickly nowadays due to the number of applicants that I figured that I would have heard by now if I were to be accepted. Perhaps there will be a few people who have had a change in plans and can no longer make it down. Thanks again.
