wouldn't the buyer be a matter of public record at the Recorder of Deeds or wherever the Stamp Tax is filed - or even if it is a VI Corporation with the LT. Gov. office document naming principals?

Well, that sale must have made a lot of people happy:D
Let us know if you hear anything further about who purchased and what they plan to do with the property.
Happy New Year, indeed!

$14 milllion seems like a reasonable price. How many acres? Is it the entire point?

A little over 13 acres so a little over 1 million per acre.

Does anyone know the owner's future plan's? Does the permit to opperate an "eco-resort" (campground) carry over with the sale. I hope that the government does not grant permits for another Peter Bay style develpoment!

http://stthomassource.com/content/news/local-news/2013/01/02/maho-bay-camps-land-sold

FRom the article: "The adjacent 12-unit Harmony Studios, which is on land owned by Selengut, will also close because it uses the Maho restaurant, beach and other infrastructure."

The beach to 50ft above the high water mark is still public. I sure as heck hope that the new owners understand that they must (under law) allow access. I wonder how the beach access provisions are represented by the realators involved. Was the new owner led to believe that he/she/they were purchasing a private beach? Will DPNR step up and enforce the public access codes?
