I am a recent graduate of massage therapy school and interested in moving to STX. Does anyone know what the licensing requirements are for massage on the island and/or who I can contact for more info?

Hello Kisha,

Try the Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs. Here is their website http://www.dlca.gov.vi/index.htm.

Thanks Islander. The info is much appreciated. My husband and I are looking to visit in May and need some inexpensive accomodations. Would you say that it is better to get a vacation package or plan the flight and hotel separately?

Hello there. I just went through the licensing thing for psychotherapy and consultation. If you call the Small Business Development Center at 340-692-5270 or Fax them at 340-692-5629, I have found them to be tremendously helpful and can even provide you with a web-link to complete the application as long as you have a credit card.

I am also planning on launching a business called "Inner Health, LLC" within the next 6 months or so. If you might be interested, I am looking for a core group that can address multiple needs, psychotherapy, induced relaxation via massage/neurotransmitter increase by the same, one person that does strictly counseling etc.

If you think you might be interested, please let me know.

Thank you, and best wishes,

Dan
