As a homeowner and a somewhat frequent user of this board I'd like to hear your voice if you would be kind enough to respond.

As an Iowa native I thought that a true meat locker and deli witth all imported beef from Iowa would work.

All the meat would be shipped in fresh with the sauages ground fresh, all of the Italian beef would be seasoned on island as well.

i like that kind of thing, sounds like what i had back home-Nick's of Clinton. they had really good prices too and great sandwiches. would it work? which island were you thinking of. i would hope your prices would be lower than what we have here now.

Are you asking, "What does everybody think of this idea for a new business?"

Just one opinion...it won't work.

It will be a small market, too specialized. On STX, we already have a few places to get high quality meat (they do on STT, too). I don't see a need for another. The business set up process will probably be daunting, as well.

Another thought....beef is the new "bad" food. The trend to eating less red meat continues, maybe not as big as a few years ago, but still, I know we don't eat it nearly as often as we used to, and I'm very pleased with NatureWell, which we get at Cost-U-Less.

I'm sure you'll get other, more encouraging, opinions. Good luck, whatever you decide.

I buy beef at Pueblo. It's high quality and reasonably priced. I'm sure the other markets are the same.
