I'm shocked that it took them a week to order a missing child alert! In the states, it would have been out within hours of noticing that he was missing!!

A 16 year old is not exactly a child in the same sense a 6 year old is.

What is the age of majority in the USVI?

All I am saying is that if a 16 yo leaves home after a argument with parents, the police might not be as likely to issue an Amber Alert as they would if a 6 yo went missing from him/her front yard.

Majority is different for different things in different places. For example compulsary education ends at 16.

I got this VI Alert yesterday and my first thought was that in this day and age couldn't they send out a copy of or link to a digital picture of the missing teen? At least a link to their Facebook page or something.

Not taking issue, just asking.

Does anyone know the age of majority in the VI?

Apart from alcohol, tobacco, and school, what is the age when, for example, a person can make a contract? Marry without parental consent?

The age of majority is determined by the states and, I assume, by the territories.
