I hope you took dated photographs of your dog caged in the neighbor's back yard and also called the VIPD and the Humane Society? Also hope you filed reports when animals have been poisoned - and are also keeping evidence and filing repots of these people caging deer.

DaChief,
OT is absolutely correct.!

May I add, it is a Federal Offense and unlawful to purposefully entrap or enclose deer and/ or any other wildlife species: it is a Federal Offense and considered Criminal Activity to harm deer and/ or any other wildlife species in any manner what-so-ever.

Report any such activity immediately to the USVI - Department of Interior - U.S. Fish & Wildlife Division.

Glad you found your pet. If you have not done so already, you should go to the nearest police station to your residence and file a police report and get the report number. The report should be made available to you after the supervisor reviews it. If the desk officer for some reason, won't take the report, speak to a supervisor at the station with your concerns of this possible theft, and past incidents.

At the very least, the other party should be contacted as to why the dog was caged, if they knew it was your dog ( did it have I.d. Tags on a collar?) and what attempts were made by them, to contact a known owner).

If you don't get satisfaction from the police, then take the report to the attorney general's office at 6040 Castle Coakley 773-0295 and request an appointment to have a prosecutor review it and speak with you.

How did they get your dog? Is dog in a fenced yard? Running loose?
Might want to keep a better eye on dog. Not judging, just saying.
Glad you found your dog.

Yes, he's home. Thanks for all the advice- he's collared with ID.

The next door "neighbors" have a problem with dogs- they baited him with dog food and trapped him in a cage. These same individuals have been suspected of poisoning no less than 5 dogs- two fatally. We had the Animal Shelter and the VIPD up there- there's definitely
something wrong with these people.

We have a VERY LARGE property (multi-acres) he must have been coaxed up the street on more than one instance, they poisoned him at least three times...

THANKS FOR EVERYONES HELP!

In that case I would cross fence an area for the dog and not let him be "coaxed down the street". We have a gate and a fence to contain the dogs. That way they can't get tossed a poison steak through the gate. They can tell we have dogs but not get close to them.

They poisoned Shadow 3 times!?!?!?:-o You need to fix that:S

So glad you got Shadow back!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the vote of confidence- we have four large dogs- they like barking at cars- but rarely venture far- he was coaxed- we will deal with this accordingly- as in in fence....
