hello all you lucky people in the sun.I lived on STC from 1970 to 1975 (age12-17) and it was the best 5 years of my life! since then I have been living in new england where the weather really stinks. My wife and I own a home and have 2 grown children. being in our late 40's and early 50's we are looking for a wonderful place to spend the rest of our lives. I suggested STC. 35 years is a long time to be away from anyplace,so I'm kind of looking for some guidance on the state of the island at this point in time.we are not looking to retire just yet,so we would need jobs and a place to live.torn between selling everything up here and buying a condo or holding on to our assets and renting a place. I understand that the cost of living is about 30% higher than stateside and the wages are significantly lower.is this true. my wife works in the food industry and I am in the automotive industry. so, what do you think, could we make STC the place that we live out the rest of our lives?

When was the last time you were on STX? I suggest a visit to reacquaint yourself with the island.
