Can anyone give a referral to a dependable moving company or what is available on St. Thomas to move household once it arrives on the island? How difficult is it to maneuver a U'Haul on the island? Is there a U Haul, Ryder etc? Thanks!

For a list of moving companies and rental agencies, your best bet (after getting advice here, of course) is to use the Yellow Pages at www.viphonebook.com. We have several companies that offer moving and storage and also vehicle rentals, but I have never used them, so I can't give you my opinion of them.....anyone else?

I used Viking. They did a very efficient job and are not afraid of steep narrow streets! They brought it in several trips in a smaller van.

I used Viking myself, and they did a fabulous job. Coordinated my move from Atlanta and didn't break a single glass!

Ditto for Viking! They will also clear your car from customs if you ship it here and deliver it to you. Well worth the $175.
