First-last-security, check. Power, check. I don't have (or want) Internet or tv now, so check. Car... We'll cross that bridge later, not right off the bat, so check. Emergency parachute, check. Rum is cheap, check. Food, single guy who eats cheap (probably lil more pricey down there), check.

Am I missing anything?

I do like the first class ticket scenario though. I have musical production equipment that I would love to bring along that I can pack down, mostly electronics. I can look into a small storage spot until I get a place. I'd feel much better bringing it down with me rather than shipping. My massive vinyl collection and turntables/mixers/amps/speakers I'm probably gonna leave in Colorado until I decide if it's gonna be a long term relocation. That's when I'm thinking I'll make the decision to bring down my jeep. If I'm stating long term, great it'll all come down. But if it's only gonna be for 2-3 years, no sense in moving thousands upon thousands of records. You know what a pain in the butt it is to move that much vinyl? Other than that stuff, I don't own much else. What else do you need?

Thanks again!

(tu)
I hated getting rid of mine when I bought a boat and went sailing.
Gave them to a friend that still has them.

All the major recording artists are now recording on vinyl - and tape is making a resurgence too in the recording industry. For years vinyl has been treasured for it's much purer sound over CDs.

Oh good. I was starting to worry I may not be able to buy blank cassettes anymore to play in my old truck. They wear out, have to keep recording new ones from my old vinyl.

To sell my vinyl, would be to sell my soul. I have such a great collection from the birth of electronic music, enough funk to shake the fabric of time and space. Rare collectibles from the 80's, 90's, & 2000's. The funk phenomenon is an unstoppable force of frequency and vibrations. In the right hands, you can do many special things to people. That's the beauty of music! To bring euphoria to those who listen, ecstasy to those who feel it, and happiness to all who embrace it.

Speaking of which, are the islands in need of experienced dj's who know how to manipulate the masses?

You'll do fine here.
Arriving in September isn't the worst thing. It gives you a chance to look around and enjoy your decision before getting to work. Just remember- food isn't a little more expensive here, it's f'ing ridiculous!
And definitely make/bring some cash for a starter car. It will make you infinitely more employable.
Scooters are fun, but there always seems to be some drunk (or) tourist in the oncoming lane. Also, horses, goats, cows, deer, etc. I was a lifelong motorcyclist up north, but having the ability to swerve off the road and not fall down has saved me a few times.
I hope it works out well for you.

Yes you need a car - no you cant bike - it takes over an hour to get East to West in STX Theres rogue dogs chasing you, dodging horses, and people driving 90mph on the "freeway" which is just more a stretch of potholes and uneven roads. You will have a hard time finding a job here period. Only 26 cruise ships scheduled here next year - its gonna be TOUGH for everyone.

Why don't you move to STT? You seem young(ish), cocky a bit - you'll need to ditch that tude QUICK here... but you'll find way more energetic people and more opportunities on STT, I think. Theres also a LOT more to do in STT in general and if you're here (the VI) for just a fun adventure for a while, you'll probably get bored in STX and with STT you can venture to the BVIs - STJ on a whim not to mention a much more active night life. Here shop closes at 9.

Hey what's wrong with having confidence in yourself? There's a difference between cocky and confident. Its all a matter of perspective really. Let me put it like this:

When you find joy in all things, you will find joy within yourself.

Its better to focus on changing yourself, than to tell others they need to change.

But thanks for the other advice, and remember; Love is All!!
