I am planning on moving to St John in the beginning of June. Seeing how this would be the start of the "offseason," is it possible to find a job or should I expect to be on vacation all summer?

You are quite likely to find a job if you are willing to work and are dependable - service industry, construction, retail, landscaping, food and beverage, some marine industry, healthcare, are usually the easiest to start in.
