Hello! My husband and I are moving to St. John in late August. Both of us are in the service industry, so we aren't really worried about finding jobs, but are most concerned with a place to live. From what I understand it can be difficult if you aren't on island.
If anyone has any information, please contact us! Your input is greatly appreciated!!
Thank you,
John and Amanda

Hi Amanda...You shouldn't have a problem finding a place to live on St. John in August. The tricky part will be how much you are willing to pay to live there, how far from town you want to be, and what your standard of living (cleanliness) requirements are. I have met people that live here who find a place to live within a day or two of arriving (me), and others who had to stay in a hotel (usually the Inn at Tamarind Court) for a few weeks while they found a place to live. The REALLY picky people (the ones who want to spend no more than 500 bucks a month and dont mind sleeping on friends couches) sometimes find themselves looking for months. When you arrive, check the message board at Connnections in Cruz Bay, as well as the bulletin board at the Starfish Market and The Mail Center, both located at the Marketplace, a 5 minutes walk from downtown. There is also a Connections located in Coral Bay, next to Skinny Legs. It is there that you will be more likely to find housing on that side of the island. Write back if you have more questions about St. John. Pete

Hello Pete,

How has St. John living been for you? I remember your 'move complete' post, you've been there for 8 or 9 months now right? Positives, negatives, enjoying it...?
