moving to st. thomas

I am moving to the islands in June. I will need a place to live , a job and a car
I don't have much money .I will have money to purchase a cheap car under $1500.00. I will then have enough to rent a place for a few months. I would love to house sit or be a housekeeper.
I worked in the car rental business for 23 years. I managed 3 different car rentals. For the last 15 years I have owned with a partner a landscaping and construction business. I ran the entire business. I also owned a partystore and deli for 2 years. So I feel I can do just about anything.
I just want to start over on the island. I do have a friend that has lived there for 30 years. I do not want to trouble her with staying with her. She has a small condo and I just want to do this by myself.

So if there is someone there that can guide me or help me. I would so apprecieate the kindness.
